Rare Premier Car To Be On Display At London To Brighton Run

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is one of the most prestigious classic car events in the world. Every year, hundreds of vintage motors are proudly displayed, and a rare American vehicle made its debut at the 2018 event. The Premier is a beautiful car manufactured by the Premier Motor Manufacturing Company.

Founded in Indianapolis in 1903, the manufacturer developed several high-quality cars. Premier even claimed to be the first company to use an emblem as an automotive trademark, relying on an oak leaf for the radiator badge.

Premier started off by building cars with air-cooled engines, with one of the models standing at the 1916 Indianapolis 500. Hardly any Premier cars have survived, especially ones built before 1905. The car that is appearing at the London to Brighton run is a four-cylinder Model F that has been restored in time for the Regent Street Motor Show Concours d’Elegance on November 3rd. The following day it will then join in with the rally.

The car comes with a Brewster Green paint job and restored body. Previously, an application had been made to the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain for an official dating certificate. This would have allowed the car to take part in the London to Brighton rally, but it ended up staying in America. After it was sold to new owner Steven Haines last year, the car has finally been made eligible.

According to Haines “it’s always been on my bucket list to have a car that’s eligible for the Run. I came once before as a passenger, but this will be my first time driving my own car. I remember Hyde Park was beautiful and sunny but, by the time we got to Brighton, it was pouring down with rain and I don’t think I’ve ever been colder in my life! But it was still fun and that’s why I’m looking forward to coming back.”
