Jaguar have a reputation for producing magnificent cars and the vehicles are some of the most popular to restore. E-Type UK specialise in restoring classic Jaguars, with one of the most recent commissions being a rare 1974 E-Type Series 3. A private customer wanted the car to be upgraded, so the team put 3000 hours of work in to generate a customised vehicle.

The bespoke E-Type featured a 5.3-litre V12 engine that used Stromberg carburetors. The engine was fully rebuilt to include a custom downdraft fuel injection system with Jenvy throttle bodies, Emerald ECU and custom wiring loom. Engine capacity increased to 6.1, producing 284 bhp. The team enhanced the E-Type’s performance by strengthening the inner sills and adding extended louvres to the bonnet. Other components to be installed included a sports steering rack, adjustable suspension and sports torsion bars.

The exterior was upgraded to feature one-off 62-spoke 16” Turino wire wheels. The team also worked on the interior, giving the seats bespoke leather for a more luxurious appearance. The seat bases were lowered, while the custom seats were created from XJS units. Finer details were added as well, such as bluetooth and iPod capability, LED lighting and sound proofing.

E-Type UK have done an amazing job with the car, putting plenty of effort into the machine. The company is based in Kent and was founded in 2008. They’ve restored a number of cars in the past, including a Series 1 FHC, Series 3 OTS and an Open Two Seater. E-Type UK offer a variety of services, ranging from coach trimming to a full MOT.
