Some of the best motorbikes for shorter riders

An enjoyable and safe ride means that you need a comfortable reach to the bars and a reasonable seat height. But with motorbikes coming in all shapes and sizes, not every bike you look at is going to be the right fit, especially for riders who are shorter than average.

But never fear, we’ve gathered a list of some of the motorbikes that we think are most suited to shorter riders.

Triumph Street Twin

This motorbike has a saddle that’s only 29.9 inches above the ground, and the narrow parallel-twin engine and slender tank means that most riders will be able to flat-foot it. Alternatively, if you’re not averse to a cruiser, then the Triumph Bonneville Bobber’s seat is only 27.2 inches above the ground!

Ducati Diavel 1260

This motorbike has quite a low seat height of 30.7 inches, plus the more neutral riding position makes it more suitable for shorter riders.

Moto Guzzi V7

This motorbike’s classic layout makes it a good option for shorter riders. The seat isn’t overly tall, the saddle is quite narrow, and it has a standard seating position. It ticks all of the boxes! Oh, and it’s a stunning bike to boot.

BMW R1250RT

With a seat height of 32.5 inches, you may be wondering why we’ve included this bike. It’s because there are three seat options to choose from, and BMW will replace the standard spec seat with a lower (or higher) option free of charge at the time of purchase. The low seat option for the RT is almost two inches lower than the standard equipment, meaning that it sits at a staggering 29.9 inches on its lowest setting!

Honda CB300R

This motorbike from Honda has a seat height of 31.5 inches,   a super-narrow saddle, and a slender, sculpted tank. It’s actually really attractive for a beginner’s bike, which can be a rarity!

Yamaha MT-07

Admittedly, while the seat height of 31.6 inches isn’t the lowest you can find, the narrow saddle profile and low weight make it a really easy and simple bike to ride for shorter riders.
