New technology to put an end to foggy visors

Visin-3

We’ve all been there, desperately wiping the mist away from our visors when the weather has turned and everything has gone blurry… Now a new British invention claims to have a solution for foggy motorcycle helmet visors, which they say works better than the existing solutions.

The Visin Heated Visor Insert, the brainchild of Jason Eite from West Midlands-based Diamond Coatings, is designed to keep the visor mist-free for up to eight hours. The insert, designed and produced in the UK, is battery powered, has a universal fit, meaning it can be fitted to any helmet.

The system works by placing a conductive transparent through the visor coating, passing electricity through the film to generate heat. The heat clears any mist, and prevents recurrence of further mist – providing riders with a clear field of vision without the need to raise visors.

The system can be kept on all the time, and there’s also a 40-second boost function which increases the power by two and a half times to clear the visor in more severe weather conditions.

The Visin Heated Visor Insert is available to purchase online at https://heatedvisor.co.uk/ with prices starting at £179.95 for a pack containing everything you need to fit and run the system. There are two universal-fit inserts (one for road helmets, one for enduro-style lids), and helmet-specific fitments are being added to the range, with a Shoei fitment already available.
