Honda update CBR500R, CB500F and CB500X for 2022

Honda’s A2-compliant 500 range has been given some big improvements for next year.

Since 2013, Honda’s sporty CBR500R, naked CB500F and adventure CB500X have been incredibly successful, selling over 106,000 bikes in Europe alone, catering for both new and experienced riders alike. And for 2022, the range has been given some fairly hefty upgrades to improve the ride.

For starters, all three bikes in the range now come equipped with new, higher spec 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston forks, alongside new dual 296mm discs for the first time, with Nissin radial mounted two piston calipers. They’ve also fitted all three machines with a lighter swingarm and lighter wheels too, while moving the weight bias forward to create a better and more intuitive ride - although the rake and trail remains the same. Honda have also gifted the three bikes with a slight facelift too, with the main difference coming in terms of a new headlight on the CBR5000R, which has been taken from the CBR650R.

Although the engine remains more or less the same, it is now Euro5 compliant and comes equipped with new PGM-FI settings, alongside a new radiator, and there are some new colour schemes on offer too.

Although the price is yet to be announced, the current models sit at £5,749 for the CB500F, £6,299 for the CBR500R and £6,249 for the CB500X. We’d expect the new models to have a small increase in the screen price, but not a massive one.
