British manufacturer Maeving is going international, with sales of its electric motorcycles about to kick-off in France, Belgium, Germany, and The Netherlands ahead of further territories in the near future.
The Coventry-based company’s first model, the Maeving RM1, is already the best-selling electric motorcycle in the UK since its launch last year. Featuring removable batteries that can be charged at any standard socket, near silent running, and an ease-of-use and riding style that makes the bike approachable for new riders, it’s an urban motorcycle that can be ridden on just a CBT licence (Compulsory Basic Training).
Now Maeving is pushing ahead with an ambitious expansion plan, spearheaded by co-founders and close friends Will Stirrup and Seb Inglis-Jones. Sales in the new markets are now open with motorcycle deliveries beginning in July. Next month, sales will expand into Australia and Singapore, and later in the year sales will begin in the USA with deliveries starting in the final quarter of 2023.
Co-founder Stirrup said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for all of us at Maeving. We knew we wanted to perfect our direct to consumer operational model in our first year, so have until now focused on just the UK. We now feel we’ve accomplished this, and are ready to offer the UK’s first British-built electric motorcycle to a wider audience.
“We all want Maeving to be a British success story, and bringing zero-emissions urban transport to as many people as possible is a big part of what we set out to achieve.”
