May 2016 – Classic Car Events Round Up

With two bank holidays to look forward to, May is shaping up nicely for classic car enthusiasts everywhere. For such people, the three-day weekend presents the perfect opportunity to don their picnic baskets before heading out for an afternoon spent among some of the nation’s finest motors.

1st May – Bedfordshire Classic Motor Show Turvey House

Now in its 19th year, the Bedfordshire Classic Motor Show is the perfect event for petrol-heads looking to make the most of their bank holiday. This year’s event will be taking place at Turvey House, meaning there’ll be over 150 acres jam-packed with some of the region’s finest vehicles. Adult tickets start at £8 while a family ticket (two adults and three children) can be picked up for as little as £24.

2nd May – Swansea Classic Car Show

With over 500 cars set to attend, if you’re a car enthusiast looking for an event in South Wales this bank holiday, look no further than Swansea’s Classic Car Show. Fun for all the family, this event includes an autojumble, trade stands and plenty of entertainment for the kids. Standard admission is just £5, while a family ticket costs a mere £12 (two adults, two children).

7th May – Dubworth

On May 7th, Oulton Park will become a home away from home for VW enthusiasts up and down the country. Camping tickets are available for this event – as Dubworth’s founders look to create a real festival atmosphere across the whole weekend. From Campers to Beetles, Golfs and Sciroccos, Dubworth is shaping up to be a VW event like no other. Weekend admission is £40 on the day, or £30 when purchased online.

15th May – Chiltern Hills Vintage Vehicle Rally

In a bid to raise money for charity, the Chiltern Hills Vintage Vehicle Rally is a classic event with a really special atmosphere. Taking place at Weedon Park, this year’s event will play host to over 1,000 vehicles, children’s rides and a whole host of eateries. There’ll also be a fun dog show for the whole family to enjoy – while a beer tent should keep Dad busy (for a few hours at least)!

28th May – Enfield Pageant of Motoring

Whether its military trucks, hatchbacks or sports cars that take your fancy, you’ll be able to find a whole host of classic vehicles at this year’s Enfield Pageant of Motoring. As well as the 2,000 vehicles that have already signed up to this awesome event, punters will also be treated to a Wall of Death and a vintage marquee. Tickets cost £10 for adults and accompanied children under 15 go free.
