Whether it’s a Sunday trip the local café, a night away to a bike-friendly hotel or a full-on festival, there’s no better way to enjoy the glorious, sunny weather. And here are five of the best, big events on this year not just in the UK, but in Europe too…
MCN Motorcycle Festival | 14/15th May | East of England Arena, Peterborough
Kicking off the festival season are MCN, with their Festival of Motorcycling on the 14th and 15th May. It’s the traditional weekend and venue of the much lamented BMF Show, making it a popular entry in many British biker’s diary. With the option to camp and a whole host of attractions that includes hundreds of test rides from various manufacturers, an Indian Motorcycles Live action arena, stunt shows and more, there should be something for everyone, in a fairly central location too. There’s even a live auction from Silverstone Auctions, which will be flogging everything from classic machinery to contemporary models.
Adventure Bike Rider Festival | 24/26th June | Warwickshire
In 2021, ABR magazine put on an incredible show with their Adventure Bike Rider Festival – and for 2022, they’ve upped the ante once again. A weekend event held over three days with two nights camping, the festival has everything you’d want from a weekend away, from beers and live music to a full-on Adventure Trail and experience section. If you’re an avid off-roader or aspire to ride around the world, this one is for you.
BMW Motorrad Days | 2/3rd July | Berlin, Germany
After two years off, BMW Motorrad Days are back, and the event is looking better than ever. Previously held in Bavaria, for 2022 it’s been moved to Berlin which would entail a gorgeous ride through Europe for the festival. There’s a pre-event day on the 1st July before the two day event which has 4000m2 of brand showcases, exhibitors and shows, including an FMX showcase, stunt show, and thousands of custom machines too. There are test rides, activities for kids and even the option of a factory tour, where you can see behind the scenes of BMW motorcycle production.
Malle Mile 2022 | 21/24th July | Grimsthorpe
They don’t call the Malle Mile ‘the greatest and most inappropriate motorcycle race and festival in the country’ for no reason – it’s something that must be seen to be believed. There’s a whole host of races both on and off the dirt, accompanied by a load of shows and stands, alongside food, drinks and music. It’s set in the picturesque location of Grimsthorpe Castle and continues to grow in both size and popularity.
World Ducati Week | 22/24th July | Misano, Italy
World Ducati Week almost needs no introduction. A legendary event held at the historic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, World Ducati Week returns for the 11th time in 2022. With three days of shows, activities and exhibitions that cover everything from off-road to on-track action, there’s even an impressive line-up of Ducati riders and legends too. If you’re a die-hard Ducati fan, it’s an event that shouldn’t be missed, and a cracking ride down to the Adriatic coast too.
