Royal Enfield pull the covers of their special edition Interceptor 650 and Continental 650 machines…
There are few biking brands that can boast a heritage and history that rivals that of Royal Enfield, who’ve more recently gone from strength to strength with the release of their mightily popular 650cc machinery. And as they celebrate a whopping 120 years in action, they are producing 120 Special Edition units of those bikes: 60 Interceptors and 60 Continental GTs.
Using the popular, standard 650s as a base, the Anniversary Editions have been designed and handcrafted by Enfield’s teams across the UK and India, culminating in a stealthy, black colour scheme – a first, for these 650s. This comprises of a black-chrome tank, which is complemented by blacked out components that include the engine, alongside a whole host of genuine accessories such as a flyscreens and bar end mirrors which all match the dark decor.
Both machines also come equipped with a 120th anniversary brass tank badge, that has its own serial number indicating it’s one of the European bound Special Edition machines, alongside a celebratory side panel as a tribute to their heritage.
The Anniversary Edition Interceptor 650 is priced at £8,150, while the Anniversary Edition Continental GT comes in at £8,350. There are 11 units of each model allocated exclusively to the UK market, and they’re available to buy in what they call a ‘flash’ sale which goes live at 5:30pm GMT on Monday 7th March.
