The Road Traffic Act 2023 was updated on 31st March 2025 making it a legal requirement in Ireland to provide driving licence numbers for each drivers covered on an insurance policy.
To comply with the change to the Act, please provide the relevant for licence number for each driver named on any policies you hold with us.
Carole Nash Insurance Consultants (Ireland) DAC are capturing this information for all drivers recorded on policies administered through Carole Nash, on behalf of its panel of insurance companies.
It's straightforward to submit your licence information to us, simply complete our form and we'll update your policy accordingly. If there are more than two drivers named on your policy, you'll need to call us on 1800 298 551
Please note
Where we're not in receipt of the required licence numbers of all drivers on an insurance policy, we'll not be able to renew your existing policy, or incept a new one.
Where can I find my driving licence number?
Your driver number can be found in field 4d. of your licence.
On older driving licences, your driver number can be found in field 5.
For EU or UK licence holders
If you have an EU or UK licence, you'll need to send us a copy of your licence. This can be emailed to [email protected]
